https://forum.totalwararena.co…ion-why-so-long-closed/p2ZitatWell, i understand the theory that they won´t release it until TW:Warhammer is kind of old.
It will generate money, as you will be able to buy and spend gold. But somewhat i don´t think that this would keep them from updating us. There is no reason to remain silent, as seeing new stuff going on in the developement of Arena won´t stop me from neither buying nor playing Warhammer. As long as i can´t play Arena, which would be tolerable.
I guess they would make more money after all, even with a released Arena. The money they get from Warhammer (And other TW games) is just one-time cash-ins for DLC´s and the game itself. But the income they get from Arena is based on microtransactions, and therefore unlimited. But this is just a guess, and based solely on my opinion.
Apart from Game-specific information ... there is no sign of life at all. This is quite strange, as they could even tho they don´t want to reveal informations to the game, manage this forum.
I can´t see why they would like the state as it is right now, as ... they are not making money and we are kind of unhappy. Maybe they can´t say "We are going to bring this game out @dd.mm.yyyy" or "We are picking up developement, after short break" or they don´t want to say "We´ve given up developement, due to <reason 1> and <reason 2>"
But the only difference if they say: "Hi Folks, we are alive" is that we would expect them to say anything - which we are already. My Guess why NOTHING is happening is something different. They´ve made clear that they are independent of other TW productions, such as Warhammer. They don´t share resources or team members. So i´m assuming they are just working with a bought license to name their game Total War and use different stuff like this forum, servers etc.
If they´d be in trouble with their contract about the license, they wouldn´t be allowed to give information, develope and keep us up2date if they are in an ongoing law-suit. But if someone´s out there with knowledge about license - contracts and stuff like that i´d be happy to be proven wrong. In the end I would say i´m optimistic. I´m a developer myself, and i´ve seen so much already existing in the game. Throwing it away now would be cruel, and most of the money is already invested into the game. It was fun to play, and releasing it without new features would already be a (small) success and produce (a bit of) money. As i´ve noticed most of the recorded and shown developement was balancing and fixing bugs - which are only the last steps. But i guess you guys know that.

ZitatHey all,
This is the fourth offline development update. It's great to see you all again, those of you that are left. I'd like to start by saying, ARENA is most likely coming back. They're still actively developing it, although builds have slowed, and nightly builds seem to be occasional rather than every night. The release candidate we were all so excited about hasn't been updated in 10 days.
Testing seems to have dropped off from. 30-40 to 20ish, occasionally. Sometimes for enough time to play a match or two, other periods are longer. This has only happened since Sunday.
I am beginning to believe that the active development is dropping off, and it remains a business decision on when to release. To try and figure out when it would make sense to drop ARENA open beta, I snooped around the warhammer steamdb.
I found this:
https://steamdb.info/app/364360/dlc/There are at least 6 DLC's planned for Warhammer. Call of the Beastmen is finished (except for a bit of polish I would imagine). The other three are unannounced, as of yet.
I would like to stress that it is not the developer's fault, games are a business, and CA and SEGA have final say in what happens and what makes most financial sense to do with regards to ARENA and Warhammer, and even the news that is released about each.
However, the DLCs for Warhammer IN MY OPINION, are the nail in the coffin for anyone who had hopes of seeing ARENA Open Beta this summer.
See you in September or October, at this rate.

Dann kommen nämlich alle an :piek:

Also Warrior of Sparta erzählt da wie es geht
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AecPmVDue1U

https://forums.totalwar.com/di…dated-1st-september-2016/
Speziell zu Arena:
ZitatArena Team – Total War: ARENA
Our free-to-play massed battle strategy game has had a big summer season of in-depth changes, feature additions and important tweaks behind the scenes. While it will remain offline for a little longer and there’s not a lot of specifics we can share yet, the team are ramping up ahead of a new phase of online testing later in the year. Most recently we’ve welcomed a considerable number of new faces to the team as production continues to increase as the game gets bigger.Check in on the Total War: ARENA Facebook page and Twitter for more news on when the game will be back live.
-
Schön zu hören das es bald weitergeht... Bzw für mich wohl eher losgeht^^
